Effective Teacher Training

This 30-hour hybrid course is designed to provide individuals with principles and practices of effective teaching and is recognized by the N.C. Department of Public Instruction. The extensive curriculum focuses on skills for basic classroom management, childhood development, and instructional techniques.

Engine Repair/Maintenance

Do you want to learn more about small engine repair and marine diesel engines? Hands-on instruction provides students with the ability to understand the operation of small engine systems: cooling, fuel, and ignition. Learn how to troubleshoot, rebuild, and repair all of your small engines! Additionally, this class provides instruction on marine diesel basics, which includes engine, cooling, lubrication, electrical, air induction, fuel, and electronics systems. The course will also include instruction on engine electronics, marine installations, and generators.

Forklift Training and Power Pallet Jack

Introduction to CAD and 3-D Printing

Learn about exciting new technologies! In a hands-on and hybrid approach, you will learn how to use CAD computer software to design digital instructions that create physical objects with our 3-D printers. Upon completion, students will be able to plot and produce a 3-D rendering that can be produced on one of our 3-D printers.

Plumbing

This course is designed to cover the basic installation and maintenance of plumbing systems and components. Topics include the safe use of tools, implementation of standard practices, and installation/maintenance of piping, fittings, valves, appliances, and fixtures used in plumbed systems. Upon completion, students should be able to install/maintain basic plumbing systems, components, appliances, and fixtures through the appropriate use of plumbing tools and standard practices.

Welding Skills

Interested in training for a career in welding, learning how to weld, improving your welding skills, or interested in making Yard Art?

Students will learn welding safety, base metal preparation, Stick, MIG, and TIG welding process, as well as an understanding of cutting, weld quality, reading drawing details, the properties of metals, and fabrication. This is a great introduction for students who are seeking employment in the welding field, learning the skills for personal use, or creating metal designs!
