Pamlico County residents have exemplified resilience for decades. The Inner Banks way of life – comprised of hard work, fresh air, real people, and loyal connections – has created a strong community full of courage and resourcefulness. As if Mother Nature didn’t devastate our area enough with Florence in 2018, the protocols and shutdowns imposed in reaction to COVID19 dealt this area another crippling blow.

Pamlico County is seeing a rise in new residents; at any given time, there are businesses that are growing, pivoting, evolving, and also beginning.

As a member of the NC Community College System Small Business Center Network (SBCN), we provide private, customized guidance at no cost for our county’s small business owners looking for support:

  • Building their customer base
  • Increasing profit margins
  • Evaluating strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWAT analysis)
  • Planning for the future
  • Much, much more!

As more and more people are making the Inner Banks their home, the American entrepreneurial spirit follows. The SBC also provides a variety of resources for start-ups. Whether someone is just starting a “side hustle” or is ready to take the plunge, everything we offer is FREE. This includes entrepreneurial seminars, which we will try to offer at community businesses:

  • How to create a business plan
  • How to conduct a current evaluation of the market (i.e. potential competition)
  • Marketing and social media management
  • How to structure your company

The Small Business Center Network across the state offers FREE, in-person seminars and webinars covering a variety of topics; click HERE for more information and registration.

If you are interested in scheduling a meeting with our SBC Director, register HERE for FREE business counseling.
